Teaching
I mainly give courses in computer science for biology students at the UFR santé, médecine et biologie humaine (SMBH) of the Sorbonne Paris Nord university, for the Sciences de la vie (Life sciences), Sciences pour la santé (Health sciences) and Sciences sanitaires et sociales (Health and social sciences) bachelor's degrees.
The goal of these courses is to provide students with an understanding of the numerical tools needed in a professional environment (word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software), as well as those needed to manipulate, visualize and/or analyze biological data (particularly R and Python programming languages), whether observational or experimental. Part of these courses are designed to prepare students for the Pix certification.
Besides, I occasionally give lectures on bacterial eco-evolutionary dynamics for the master's degree on emerging infectious diseases (Paris Cité university), and on epidemiological modeling in animal populations for the AgroParisTech engineer's degree.
List of recent courses:
- Introduction to computing (Sciences de la vie bachelor's degree, Sorbonne Paris Nord university)
- Algorithmics (Sciences de la vie bachelor's degree, Sorbonne Paris Nord university)
- Using R in practice (Sciences pour la santé bachelor's degree, Sorbonne Paris Nord university)
- Office automation (Sciences sanitaires et sociales bachelor's degree, Sorbonne Paris Nord university)
- Genomics and evolutionary dynamics (Biologie moléculaire et cellulaire – MIE master's degree, Paris Cité university)
- Modeling epidemic dynamics in animal and plant populations (2nd year engineer's degree, AgroParisTech)
- Contribution of epidemiology to health risk management (2nd year engineer's degree, AgroParisTech)
